Updates

So it's been over a year since the last update, I know I'm just lazy when it comes to keeping my own site active.

Anyway what have I been up to? I guess the first thing that comes to mind is I've got a new job. I finally left the Co-op as my department was getting rid of all contractors. They offered us all permanent jobs within the team (on less money / possibility of 24 hour work / etc) however I felt it a good time to leave.

I admit with the credit crunch in full swing at that time I did feel slight intrepidation, however 3 days later I was offered an interview for a job just a few miles from my house and was employed again.

Now working for a small software company, 10 mins drive from my house (which I love, compared to the 1H+ commute to and from Manchester) with great colleagues.

Hours are great too 8:30 - 4, which is the best improvement over the Co-op job (where due to shifts some nights I wouldn't get home until 7:30-8).

Holiday wise I've been to Italy with some friends. Went to various museums (saw just how ridiculously bright Leonardo De Vinci was / etc) and had a few drinks along the way. Lovely weather, rained for literally 10 mins one day when we were shopping. Other days it got to over 40 degrees C (313K), little to hot for me, but I weathered through.

Also I bought a new PC and Mobile phone. I've entered the 21st century with a smartphone (Nokia 5800) which has all the mod cons (GPS, Internet, Camera, Downloadable Applications , Etc). New PC was required as mine was essentially 5 years old (which for an IT tech is a little poor show) I'm now back upto speed on the hardware side of things.

I did start to write a review of it however for some reason I couldn't get it to post on the site. I'll try again later.
